Rest and Refresh

Thank you for your partnership and labor in prayer over this last week! We will be taking Sundays as a rest and refresh day, reflecting on our journey of prayer and asking God to renew our strength and faith for a new week of praying and living.

Prayer can be such an exciting endeavor where our faith is ignited and sometimes as we pray, we can almost see the kingdom of God coming with the eyes of our hearts. And sometimes prayer can be \ dry or we find that our faith is flickering–it’s hard for us to engage or we feel discouraged and it’s hard to believe that God hears or will answer the prayers we are praying.

As you reflect on your journey in praying for Kyrgyzstan this last week, what has your experience been like? What have been the high points where you felt your faith ignited or God’s nearness in prayer or worship? Spend some time reflecting and dialoguing with God about these high points. Do you sense Him doing something new in you through your times of prayer? If so, you can spend some time responding to Him and inviting more of His work in you.

How about low points? In what ways have you found it difficult to engage in prayer (or encountered significant challenges in life) this week? Perhaps it’s something going on inside of you, or perhaps it’s an external factor. Spend some time giving these things to the Lord and listening to what He would like to say to you about them.

Exalting His Name

One thing have I asked of the Lord,
    that will I seek after:
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord
    all the days of my life,
to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord
    and to inquire in his temple.

Hear, O Lord, when I cry aloud;
    be gracious to me and answer me!
You have said, “Seek my face.”
My heart says to you,
    “Your face, Lord, do I seek.”

 I believe that I shall look upon the goodness of the Lord
    in the land of the living!
Wait for the Lord;
    be strong, and let your heart take courage;
    wait for the Lord!
(Psalm 27: 4, 7-8, 13-14, ESV)

Take some time to pray through this scripture however you wish. You can read through the whole thing slowly as your prayer or you can stop to pray in your own words when something especially resonates with you. You could even use this as the basis for a written prayer.

Worship and Waiting

Spend some time quietly with the Lord or listening to a worship song and offering yourself to Him again for the week of prayer and life ahead.

Closing Prayer

Father, once again I offer these prayer times for Kyrgyzstan to You as a seeking of Your face. Please draw me near to Yourself, help me to dwell with You in prayer in this coming week. In the ways I sense you awakening faith in me and giving me joy in prayer and life, thank you! Through the places where prayer and life may have been difficult, please speak to me and strengthen me. I seek you. I wait for you.

Praying as a group?

Leading others in prayer is a great step in making disciples. We want to celebrate your and their faithfulness. For each person that prays with you, we will add 15 minutes to the 30.9 days of prayer committed so far.

How many prayed today (including yourself)?
